JUST A CAT.
MassMutual, Boston. A co-worker had a kitten to rehome. A quiet analyst said yes. No announcement. No grand entrance. Just a red collar and a name: Sammi.
Then the persona arrived. A kitten avatar. Cats on every wall of the stream. A handle called Roaring Kitty. The internet did what the internet does best: it never asked where the kitty came from.
Until one night, on stream, to an empty room, he said the name out loud.
That’s our origin story. The rest? We’re making noise.
THE NAME
“psps… Sammi.” Said once, mid-stream, to nobody. Chat caught it. Reddit never let it go.

r/GME connected the dots: adopted from a MassMutual co-worker, the cat the whole persona was built around. Ask Grok today and it answers the same: the name of Keith Gill’s cat is Sammi.
